JR Competitive House League:


The Competitive stream of our junior program is geared towards players who have played in the past year, or are intending on playing competitive tennis. The definition of competitive tennis is: participation in an OTA tournament, an STF tournament or STF league play. We will also recognize participation in other provincial or city tournaments and play. This stream is by invitation from the Club Pro and Junior Committee. The format will be a ladder format with each player guaranteed 2 games per Monday, one single match and one doubles match.

Mondays 4:00 – 6pm from April 30 to June 25
Cost: $10

JR Competitive Drills & Skills:

The Competitive stream of our junior program is geared towards players who have played in the past year, or are intending on playing competitive tennis. The definition of competitive tennis is: participation in an OTA tournament, an STF tournament or STF league play. We will also recognize participation in other provincial or city tournaments and play. This stream is by invitation from the Club Pro and Junior Committee. Players in this stream must have ground stroke control and can keep a rally for 10 strokes, baseline to baseline. In this class, we will focus on tennis conditioning (balance, reflex, agility) and on court strategy for 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time, will put in practice strategies learned in match play.

Wednesdays 4:30 – 6:00pm from May 2 to June 27
Cost: $35

STF Team practice:


The team practice is mandatory for players who have been selected to be on a Scarborough Bluffs Tennis Club Junior STF team. Failure to attend practice will result in forfeiting their match on Saturday. During this time, captains will ensure players practice with their partners and work on strategy and communication.

Recreational JR House League:

Recreational players are beginning to have good ground stroke control. They can hold a rally for 5 exchanges. They have taken structured lessons in the past year. Players will be divided based on their level of play and ball (red dot, green dot and green dot full court). Each player will have a chance to play at least 2 singles games. Points will be tallied and prizes will be awarded at the end of the year.
NOTE: Players showing improvement may be invited to join the Competitive stream.

Tuesdays 4:00 – 6pm from May 1 to June 26
Cost: $10


Recreational Drills and Skills:

Recreational players are beginning to have good ground stroke control. They can hold a rally for 5 exchanges. They have taken structured lessons in the past year. During this class, players will be taught proper stroke technique and positioning on court. Players will also practice strokes in game situations.
NOTE: Players showing improvement may be invited to join the Competitive stream.

Thursdays 4:30 – 6pm from May 3 to June 28
Cost: $35

Saturday Lessons:

Saturday Lessons are included in all JR registrations. Lessons are organized by age groups and skill level. For Jrs aged 7 and above, groups will be divided into Competitive and Recreational players, depending on skill level and participation in after school programming in May and June.
NOTE: Saturday lessons begin on April 28, 2018 and end August 25, 2018
Ages 4 – 6: Sponge Balls, May & June – 11:30 am to 12 pm; July & August – 9am to 9:30am

Ages 7 – 10: Red dot and green dot balls, May & June – 12 pm to 1 pm; July & August – 9:30am to 10:30am

Ages 11 and up: Regular balls, May & June – 1 pm to 2 pm; July & August – 10:30am to 11:30am

September After-school Program:

House League:
Players will be divided based on their level of play and ball. Each player will have a chance to play at least 2 matches. Points will be tallied and prizes will be awarded at the end of the year.
